Over the last several months the needs of our world have changed.
We have all needed to make an adjustment to how we live life. Here at KIDS Inc we have had to adjust all of our programs and reprioritize our time.
Who we are doesn’t change and what we seek to accomplish doesn’t either!
KIDS Inc exists to cultivate life changing relationships that show the love of Jesus and multiply believers to glorify God.
How do we do that? We provide people and programs to meet students' immediate physical, social, emotional and educational needs with the ultimate goal of Christ-redeemed lives.
The Story
Programs have changed but the needs are still there.
I was recently talking to my good friend Kate Voss, the community outreach coordinator at Sense Charter school about some of the needs of the community. This is what she told me.
“Late last week one of our teachers brought to my office a child who had revealed to her that he and his younger brother were sleeping on a wooden pallet on the floor. With one blanket between them. This is not an unusual story among our school families. Our school population is 95% living below poverty. And that was before COVID. Providing even basic needs is a struggle for our families. Many lost their jobs in the service and construction industry when there was the economic shutdown in the Spring. Now many of their jobs have not returned. Or ever will.
Bedding is a luxury among many of our families. That said, we could use some fleece blankets and perhaps small pillows. Fun and bright. Even those rolled fleece blankets would be so appreciated. It is our intention to distribute them during one of our twice-a-week family food box distributions. We are grateful for your consideration to help keep our children and their families safe and warm against the winter chills. And add some cheer and security during the long cold nights.” .
The Need - Blankets
After hearing this story and seeing the need I knew that you and I could help the children of our community in a very tangible way!
So we are going to see how many blankets can be collected from now until December 18!

- Purchase them in a store and drop them off here at our building (call ahead to make sure we are in the building)
- Donate money through our website and we can purchase them

We will give some blankets to the students in our programs and also partner with Sense Charter School to get them to the kids in our community!
