Camp 2013

CampA-4

Greetings!

We have two weeks of camp that we are looking forward to this summer!

Our first week is June 17th-21st and will be at Camp Indy on the northeast side of Indianapolis. This is a day camp for 1st-6th graders that includes activities such as swimming, hiking, crafts, Bible teachings, team building activities, and ropes courses. We plan on taking about 30 kids to Camp Indy this year. We also use this camp as an opportunity to build leadership skills with some KIDS Inc high school and college kids by taking them along as counselors as well.

Our second week of camp is July 7th-12th at Camp Allendale in Trafalgar, IN. This camp is for 7th-12th graders and we plan on taking 20 kids to this Camp Allendale this year. We do fun activities such as the zip-line, giant swing, swimming, the Blob, human Foosball, ropes courses, and canoeing. We also spend a lot of time around the camp fire worshiping, doing personal devotions, and listening to testimonies and Bible teachings. This year’s theme is “iGrow – Apps for Spiritual growth”. We will take the kids out of their normal environment and place them in a surrounding of God’s creation, and they are continually hearing stories of God’s goodness. As a result, we’ve seen many kids commit their lives to Christ at camp.

Below we have recorded some stories from past campers and counselors of their memories of camp.
Memories of Camp…..

Anthony
“Hi my name is Anthony Jones. When I went to camp Allendale it was probably the most fun thing I did that whole year. How you ask? Well for one it was just like camping and cleaner. (haha) On top of that I was with all my friends and I made new friends also. But I have to say my best part about when I went was everyone around the fire cooking cannolis with aluminum foil and a broom stick, it was fun and creative and we got to eat them afterwards.”

Shelby
“I would have to say my favorite part is making connections and getting closer to everyone no matter how different our backgrounds are…”

Cheyenne
“I would say my favorite part was meeting new people and just hanging out and having fun ! Oh, can’t forget this! Waking up everyday to Paul and his leaf blower!”

Kathlene
“Everything about camp was my favorite part. I always had so much fun, made new friends, ate yummy food, did fun activities, and worshiped God.”

Allison
“My favorite thing like most people’s is hanging out with old friends and meeting new ones on the way. The activities were also so much fun. The zip line and the giant swing are just two of many of the wonderful things they offer. Another thing I really liked was how goofy we could act all day and at the end of the day how wonderfully serious it was. How we could sit all together by the campfire and look up at the stars and just praise Jesus though song and praise -especially Psalm 139. If anyone has the chance to go, I would definitely take advantage of it. It is truly a life changing experience. It changes your whole aspect of life around you and makes you really think what’s important in your life.”

Heidi
“My favorite part about camp is sitting around the fire day or night because everyone is in one place and we can talk about hilarious things together or sing or learn about God! It is just a beautiful place!” (counselor)

We need your help!
We have been able to take kids to camp each year and have a wonderful time thanks to you!! We need your help again this year through prayer and giving.

Please pray for:
1. God to prepare the hearts of the kids to learn from Him and be changed by His Word.
2. Fellowship and unity among campers and counselors.
3. Safety and health for campers and counselors.

Camp Allendale costs about $300 per kid, and is only made possible by donations from generous individuals, churches, and businesses.
